OUR OUTREACHES

Angel Tree

Our Angel Tree outreach provides a Christmas gift to children from Silt to Glenwood Springs who are referred to us by local schools or partnering organizations. This is wonderful outreach that gets the entire community involved with donations and volunteering.

Back to School Supply Drive

School supply lists can be a struggle for families to purchase everything. We provide gift cards to all six local schools to help ensure classrooms have the supplies needed that families are unable to bring in. Individual needs for students for larger items may be requested through school counselors as well.

Community Enrichment Classes

Our community enrichment classes provide healthy nutrition such as gardening, food preservation, and Cooking Matters classes. We also provide parenting and finance workshops throughout the year as well. These classes are open to anyone and are either free or have a minimal fee, but scholarships are available.

Community Garden

Our community garden is a partnership between The River Center, the Town of New Castle, and the New Castle Garden Club. Individual garden spaces are available for community members, but half of the garden is reserved as the community garden which supplies hundreds of pounds of food to River Center and Lift-Up families each year.

Life Assistance

Our life assistance outreach provides financial assistance for rent, utilities, transportation, medical, food, and clothing costs.

Meal Monkey

Meal Monkey provides a healthy sack lunch each Friday to kids 18 and younger. Meals are delivered to Burning Mountain Park in New Castle and the Silt Library and Heron's Nest in Silt.

Prosper & Grow

Prosper & Grow provides helps participants that are struggling to find or keep permanent work. We have group workshops that connect them with local resources, training, and mentors to help them along their way to employment.

Seniors Networking Luncheon

Each Wednesday at noon we host a networking luncheon for the community to attend and enjoy a meal and presentation.

Totes of Hope

Totes of Hope provides a weekly bag of non-perishable food items for kids to take home for the weekend. During the school year food is delivered to four local schools. During the summer months families are able to pick up food at the local libraries.

Volunteer New Castle

Volunteer New Castle supports and encourages volunteering in New Castle. Each year a volunteer, business, and organization of the year are announced during Burning Mountain Days.

Winter Clothing Distribution

Our winter clothing distribution provides donated coats and winter gear to our community free of charge.
